ASA Beginner
- ASA 101 Basic Keel Boat: Tuition $395 On the water two days 9AM – 5PM – No Prerequisites required.
- ASA 103 Coastal Cruising: Tuition $465 On the water two days 9AM – 5PM – Prerequisites required ASA 101.
- ASA 101 & 103 Basic Keel Boat & Coastal Cruising: Tuition $875 Combined 4 days on the water training 9AM – 5PM – No Prerequisites.
ASA Advanced
- ASA 104 Bareboat Chartering: Tuition $520 On the water two days overnight on anchor training – Prerequisites ASA 101 & 103.
- ASA Basic 101 to Bareboat 104 package course offer 101, 103 & 104: Tuition $1250 Combined 6 days on the water training – Prerequisites basic sailing knowledge.
- ASA 114 Cruising Catamaran Sailing: Tuition $1175, On the water 2 days training over night on the anchor.
- ASA 104 & 114 Bareboat & Catamaran Package Prerequisites course offer: Tuition $1450 On the water 3 days overnight sailing and anchored – Prerequisites ASA 103.
Advanced Ocean Cruising
- ASA 105 Coastal Navigation: Tuition $395 At home study – Prerequisites None.
- Sailing Review: Tuition $345 On the water instructor review and refresh sailing skills assessment to individuals proficiency class and on water training.
- Docking Review: Tuition $345 On the water – Prerequisites knowledge of auxiliary motor sailboat (inboard or out board) tend dock lines, fenders and crew.
- Anchor Review: Tuition $345 On the water – Prerequisites knowledge of auxiliary power review of setting an anchor and picking up mooring ball coordination with crew techniques.
- Heavy Weather Review: Tuition $345 On the water – Prerequisites knowledge of auxiliary motor sailboat (inboard or out board), ASA 104.
- Night Sailing Review: Tuition $345 On the water – Prerequisites knowledge of auxiliary motor sailboat (inboard or out board), ASA 104.
ASA Course Requirements
ASA Certification requires that you become a member of ASA. As of March 2020, ASA annual membership special sale offer 6-month free membership benefits at an annual discount rate special of $39 sale price.
ASA requires each certification course that students use ASA textbooks. We recommend purchasing the printed bundled package (101,103, 104 textbooks) for $75.75. It would be best to purchase textbooks one month before the start of the course to give students enough time to read the text and complete chapter reviews on each course.
Upon arrival, one log book will be issued to each enrolled student. For each successful completion of course(s), a certification sticker for the log book will be issued (sent directly to the student from ASA). This process typically a 3 to 4 week to process. Test results will be held in student’s permanent ASA records. Each course certificate course sticker, ASA fee $150.

This is an advanced cruising standards for individuals with cruising experience. One will act as skipper or crew sailing by day near coastal waters in moderate or heavy weather and seas. Further sail training include knowledge of onboard systems and troubleshooting minor engine trouble, fuel, water, and cooling systems.
Student will also learn cruise planning and provisioning, cooking underway, piloting skills, further navigation, VHF, docking, mooring emergency skills, and using their skills in a coastal cruise to a destination and/or island hopping.
*Two days of on-water instruction

***PREREQUISITES: ASA 101 and 103
Student applies the navigation theory and practices for safe navigation of a sailing vessel in coastal and inland waters.
On-water navigation skills are a combination of 103 Coastal Cruising, 104 Bareboat Cruising in progressive levels of detail Coastal Navigation Course covers chart reading, lights and buoyage, dead reckoning, bearings and fixes, set and drift, tides and currents, lights, dayshapes, signals for shipping, emergency position finding and much more.
Be able to demonstrate the navigational theory required to safely navigate a sailing vessel in coastal or inland waters. There is no Sailing Skills part to this Standard and practical application of this sailing knowledge is found in the Advanced Coastal Cruising Standard.
